Postgraduate
1. General Information

Students are accepted to Department of  Public Finance PhD  Programme since 2011-2012. In  PhD Programme in Public Finance, students are required to  complete 10 courses, including a total of  30 credits (60 ECTS) during 3 semesters.  Students who complete the course work with the academic advisor assigned to the thesis work, shall be executed and defend their thesis in front of the jury members. Upon successful completion of the period of course work and thesis, students will have the title of doctor's degree in the field of Public Finance. 

2. Qualification Awarded

Students having successfully completed this program are awarded an Bachelor’s Degree in Public Finance.

Bachelor’s level.

4. Acceptance and Registration Provisions

General acceptance provisions is valid to start program for Turkish and foreign students.

5. Recognition of Prior Learning

In accordance with the principles determined by the Osmangazi University Senate students from other universities are accepted for the equivalent master's degree programs by lateral transfer.

6. Proficiency Requirements and Norms

It’s essential that students must be succeed at all courses, and must not get FF, DZ  orYZ grade. In this program, students must complete at least 120ECTS credits and grade point average must be at least 3,00 out of 4,00.

7. Program Profile (Objective)

The aim of the programme is to serve students the high level of education by transferring them  theoretical and practical knowledge about the basic disciplines of the public sector and to provide specializing opportunities for students by improving their opinions about the problems and responsibilities of public finance.

8. Program Proficiencies (Learning Outputs)

To have the wealth of knowledge about financial matters, as to comprehend the relationship between theory and practice.

Be able to interpret and establish cause-effect relationship between financial and economic events by using the have acquired information related to the field.

To  understand the importance of ethics in science and professional responsibility in own research related to the field

Be able to evaluate with a critical assess, the economic aspect of the public sector, public fiscal management and the functioning of public budget, in light of current developments

Be able to analyze the operation of tax systems and interpret by making a comparison of different systems, using own theoretical and legal information related to the process of taxation.

Be able to develop to solutions of international financial problems, determine the interaction in economic life of the public sector in the process of globalization.

Be able to analyze issues related to his field by using numerical methods, and evaluate the reflections of practice.

Be able to work at a phase scientific publication, discussing in-depth

a problem related to financial issues working with group or individual

Be able to research the literature a topic related to field after attaining sources of information, and gain skills for working  independent.

Be an example for society with line the requirements of social life gained knowledge, skills and behaviors

Acquiring own information, not only  in the public sector  but also private sector management, may be employed auditing, accounting, finance and like  this  various fields

9. Employement Opportunity for Graduates

Graduates with a master's degree, in the event ensure that the conditions of acceptance will have the opportunity to continue to doctorate programs. Our graduates can work at high level management positions with their deep knowledges. They may also have the opportunity to work as the academic staff at universities.

10. Access to Further Studies

Students who complete the graduate programme successfully can apply to postgraduate programmes provided that: They have required scores from the related parts of Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES). They have the sufficient scores from English Proficiency Tests (ÜDS, KPDS, TOEFL etc.) (Tests approved by the Inter-university Committee).
